Have thought about memorial bench, memorial marker, etc. That is the easy part, where would be put it? Is there a place in Austin where you can memorialize a pet that has died? We want this to last for a long time so others will know about our dogs.

try calling the local police station. My aunt did that for a loved one.
see if you can purchase or use a part of land in a nearby park and place the memorials there.
I have heard of pet cemeteries, or places like this where pets are buried and there are memorial markers. I was looking in a catalogue yesterday for a company we have here in Canada, called Regal, and they had a beautiful marker for pets who have died…round and went around the base of a tree, with the names on it. You could have a memorial tree with the marker around the base. I hope that this information helps you, and all my sympathy on your losses.

I love the hospitals idea for remembering the infants that have passed on in the NICU. Parents each painted artwork on a little square of tile, that the hospital permanately added to the wall. The hospital gave them a tile and some paint. There were some parents who painted angels, and the dates. Some painted poems. There were all sorts of colorful tiles. It got so big and popular, that they even had parents paint tiles to use for the ceiling. It was great for the parents to do, because it helps them to heal, and know that their infant will never be forgotten.
The wall of tiles touched my heart and soul. It was also comforting at the same time, beautiful, and amazing.
What about a statue? I think you will have to speak with somebody at the mayors office in your city. They would probably be able to help with what you would be allowed to put up and where. We know all of our lost loves wait patiently for us at the Rainbow Bridge. Run free babies, we love and miss you so much.
I know of one cemetery in Illinois that has a pet section. It’s a beautiful place next to the regular cemetery. The monuments that pet owners made to memorialize their pets are very touching. You might want to contact a local cemetery in your area and ask if they would be interested in having a special section for pets.
you’re best to have it cremated and have them put in little urns. then they can be near you.
if you want a park bench, contact local council. be prepared for it to be graffitied and scratched. people don’t care much anymore.
your dogs are special to you, keep em close.
Some zoos will sell you a memorial stone in a wall, or a memorial tree, or memorial bench. If you find an ethical zoo that focuses on proper animal care and conservation, that might be a nice spot to put it as well as supporting animals in general. I know the Bronx Zoo is run by an ecological conservation charity.
