Where to find pets?
Amy_S asked:
Me and my husband are looking for a dog. The only thing is…Shelters charge almost $200 for adoption fees and craigslist doesn’t allow pet postings. Any suggestions?

You could keep checking the classifieds in the paper and check out. But in being honest with you, if you can’t afford a $200 fee they charge for spay/nueter, current vacinations and worming, then you can’t afford a dog and the vet bills + food bills that will follow and are a part of owning a dog. Look into owning a rat, rabbit or some other cheaper animal.
Go to petfinder.com that will show you a list a puppies or dogs in your area up for adoption, not all shelters charge $200, but when you think about it that really isn’t expensive because the dog you get will already be fixed, have all its shots, house trained, ect. Where are you located, I would be glad to help. Good luck!
I do not know what state you livein but you can go to pet finder.com and look for all kinds of pets. Here in kansas it does not cost 200 dollars to adopt a pet. I have a dog but it was given to me. Are you looking for a small dog. But go to petfinder.com or go to google and type in anything about pets and you will come up with lots of websites. Good luck
If you are in lahore you go to defence in M block near K.F.C
Well not all shelters charge $200. And let me tell you if you go out buying one at a pet store or online they will be WAYYYY more then $200. In the $1000’s possibly. If you want to try pet stores or in your newspaper that are local to you do it. But you can also look online for them at . But if you are looking into buying a dog far oway be aware or shipping costs and you having to pick them up at the airport.
Good Luck!
Go to petfinder.com and loook for your new friend.
Check your classifieds… Lots of times people just want to find a good home for the animals….
Adoption fees help to cover medical costs for the dogs. These fees rarely even help the organization break even.
is a great place to do some adoption hunting.
Keep in mind that if you pay less or get a “free” dog, you will need to come up with the money for vaccinations, health tests, heart worm checks, intestinal worm checks, and any medications out of pocket. This can and will run you more than the adoption fee. Plus, most adoption fees also cover the spay and neuter.
If you want a dog, you must be willing to put in the cash.
I’m sorry, but if you cannot afford a $200 adoption fee, how to do plan on affording a dog? They are quite spendy. They need toys, food, shots, spay/neuter (if they are of a certain age or haven’t had it done already), flea, tick, and heartworm prevenative (which often costs $200)…
And what if you need emergency vet care? You could easily need more than $200 for that.
