Where can I buy a guinea pig that’s not from a pet store?

Peach asked: I live in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) and I don’t want to buy a guinea pig from a pet store. I checked the local SPCAs but there aren’t any there.
Any suggestions of shelters or adoption centers near Vancouver?
